Spent the weekend in Baler and had a great time on the beach. Weekdays can sometimes be harsh and terribly stressful, like horrible little monsters that poke and torment you every minute of every day. Do this. Do that. Now. Tends to drive you mad, what with all the to-do lists and calendar of deadlines. Thank God for weekends! TGFW! (Ok I made that up) And hooray for friends who are willing to just pack their bags and go on an adventure with you! HFFWWTJPBGOAAWY! (And that too) So we went to the beach to recuperate and enjoy some time away from stressful weekdays.
The waves were stronger than the last time we visited. Swimming back took a huge amount of effort as the waters surged towards the shore and pushed us back or under. But our instructors from Panatag were with us the whole time and even let us go farther into the sea to catch the bigger waves. In the late afternoon, we rented bikes and went around the town 🙂
Oh, and I had to include this Crispy Tadyang from Bay’s Inn because it is glorious! *cue angelic voices singing “ahhhhh…” in harmony*
Before we knew it, the weekend was over and it was time to leave. We packed our bags and boarded the bus back to Manila with heavy hearts and frowns on our faces. My small consolation was this lovely view outside the window…
Back at home, I dropped to my bed, light-headed and beat up. This morning I woke up to sore muscles and sunburnt cheeks, although I feel happier and re-energized. There are things to accomplish and monsters to overcome. Monday always means a surge of emails and calls. Specific instructions and important directions will come crashing in. Do this. Do that. Now. But there is warmth and color on my skin. I’ve been pummeled by bigger waves this weekend and have the aching body parts to prove it. I’m sure I can get through this – another week of fighting monsters doesn’t seem so bad.
