“Saan na ang mga engkanto, kuya?”
The sounds of laughter and loud splashes fill the air as tourists jump into the sapphire waters. It is noon and we are having a hefty lunch of grilled pork and fish on one of the tables near the Enchanted River. I am disconcerted by the noises, but Kuya Alan doesn’t seem perturbed. He answers in between bites, “They are still there. They are just hiding.”
“Don’t they get mad?”
“That’s why we do not allow people to come in after 6PM,” he says with a knowing look, “The nighttime is for the spirits.”
